Hello all
I spoke to the Ranger office about the "Seaton Creek Camp Ground" for the Weekends of October. Its first come find your own spot, no Reservation.
They said it will be fee free then and they are not certain if the camp ground toilets will be open but they maybe.
I think the Poll is open for the rest of July and then we can finalize a date for this year. If it turns out New dates will work better for next year we can figure that out after this first Event.
Thanks again for everones input....
Oh and I plan to have two extra ENO eagles nest hammocks for new comers to use if need be let me know, send me a PM. They will have a tarp, bug net and sleeping pad. Just thought I would make these available for the weekend if need be, thanks
dont worry about getting a site i am minutes from there and will go stake a claim early
welcome to planet earth no one gets out alive
I have nothing against the MRT, but what is the desire of that trail? I have hiked the loop twice and didn't find MRT anything special. Plus wasn't the spring hang on the MRT? We should do the fall hang in another location. Just my opinion.

It's a long shot, but pending the weekend selected I may try to make it up for this event.
I'm ok with the MRT, but what about North Manitou? Anyone coming from the Metro Detroit area?
I like the NCT-MRT loop, but didn't care much for the northern 1/3 or so of the MRT (south of the camp ground). Compared to other parts, it seemed over used and just sort of ugly for lack of a better term. Nice views of the river though. The "campsites" are pathetic, but I'm sure all true backpackers are getting a good 100yards off the trail to hang in peace!
Me, Bloomgorge, and when we can get him out, Questtrek. Bushmedic is in Novi too, but I haven't seen him on in awhile.I'm ok with the MRT, but what about North Manitou? Anyone coming from the Metro Detroit area?

Ok, I'm the new guy here. I got a HH a couple of years ago and need to do a group hang so I can see how you guys do it. I'm in KY so MI isn't out of the question for me. What's with all the acronyms on HF? What is MRT?
