These things are being discontinued, so instead of $45, Kelty is selling them for $20. I didn't get one, but they were recommended to me as a cost-effective tarp.
Just thought I'd share.

What are the dimensions?
I haven't the foggiest idea. I've HEARD that it's 10x10 or somewhere thereabouts, but I didn't really dig that hard.

Just dug up specs, its 9x9. Would this make a good tarp? Its water resistant but not water repellant and made from 1800mm PU Nylon Taffeta, it weighs 23 oz with stuff sack.

I've been using one for a little while. It's got 4 nice loops on each corner, each with a mitten clip attached as well, and I haven't had any problem's with it leaking in even moderate rain (haven't had it up during any heavy storms, but I doubt it'd have trouble. I have noticed it's a little tricky to string up tightly, I don't know if that's because mine's not perfectly flat or because the diamond configuration just tends to be less tight. In any case, I definitely recommend it. I'm in the process of sewing on some more tabs but I've found it too small to use as an a-frame with my hammock.
Also, I think there's a 20% off coupon for the kelty site out there somewhere.
