We weren't lost, just temporarily misplaced.
With beauty all around you, may you walk.
It sure sounds like everyone had a great time. Wish I could have made this one too. The new hangers got some excellent experience.

I had a great time on this hang. My dad picked some great spots for the two of us! Looks like I didn't need to start any fires this time, Hairbear did great with the morning fire, even taught me some new tricks. I almost couldn't make this hang because of some school issues but I'm so glad I did! Only downside to this wonderful hiking trip was the beef stew I "attempted" to eat. By the way. If you ever see some crazy colors shining in the middle of the woods, you know Disco's out there
First of all I want to thank all the guys that helped me on my first trip out, it was quite the experience at 10 degrees. Thanks disco for organizing the hang and thanks to all the guys for making me feel like part of the group. This is a good group of people to hike with and get to know and hope to get out often. Didn't get as much info that I wanted to absorb but it was just because I couldn't stray far from the fire. Have lots to learn but also have some great minds to learn from with so many good ideas. Want to thank the guys for the gifts. Talked to ramenshamen and hoots aunt did pass away. Would have posted sooner but my hands just finally thawed out . Lol ! Will be looking forward to the next post about the next hang.
A year ago I looked around and realized I was missing something more than I thought I would; decided to do something about it, after all, if you're not happy you need to do something about it. Sounds simple but many people "resign" themselves to their circumstances. It's one thing to be content, another to simply give in or give up. Decided to meet some new people who might share my love of the outdoors. I achieved my goal and then some.
Despite the wonderful differences I realized that this group of guys are what I call "real people"; been around a lot of fake ones full of hot air and don't have much use for them. I appreciate all of you guys.
Now getting to do all of this and sharing it with my youngest son....well, that's simply priceless; he'll never know how deep that goes until he has his own.
It was good fun and I'm glad my son gets to know guys like you; you're more of an influence than you might realize, each and every one of you.
Glad you could join the group Campalot!
Joker, I mean't what I said, if you ever want to get out just to camp and need a partner, PM me, email me and I'd love to join you and hear more about your days in the Air Force!
For Hoot and his friend; I was sorry you couldn't stay; common bond there...sorry about your Aunt!
And Disco...that disco ball is absolutely a classic! I haven't stopped smiling yet. You've done a good job as our leader and I appreciate it.
I'll post some of my pics later, just got in from a business trip.
Enjoy the day

Not to rub it in Skygzr but you did miss a good one; the snow, tempurature, and the group made this one a bit unique. The wind was mild to non-existent so the cold wasn't bad. My son and I were able to hang on the edge of a steep hill overlooking a shallow creek bottom and facing the sunrise...it was beautiful to say the least. May not get to hike/camp in snow like that again for a very long time. It would be good to have you with us again!
