I don't know, I read that the Momentum Tafetta is not that much softer in the hand than the regular Momentum MR. I think they are the same weight. I think MLD designed their quilts to be reversible or something and the Tafetta drapes against the body better. I just guessed that the Momentum MR would be a little warmer, having less air permeability, but don't know.
I'm hoping to get a decent range, for my Ozark trail season, out of the quilt, from early April- early June, (no summer hiking here!) and late Sept - late October.
Does anyone know if the Climashield Apex insulation will be available soon?
I called and talked extensively with the sales rep at Climashield last week. Apex was developed for a company (and that may be MLD--no confirmation of that) and when they develop a new product to a set of specs, the company requesting the development has the option of holding an exclusivity license on the product for a set term. I tried to get the time line on when that would expire and Apex would be openly available, no dice. I got could be sooner than latter but also got impressions that it may be late in the year if this year at all. I have his direct number and was told to check back often for updates. As soon as I can get my hands on it or a set time I will get it in and make it available for DIY along with updating KAQ.
