Next week I will close on my house in hammock heaven! I'll be moving to North Carolina in the heart of the Balsam mountains between Maggie Valley and Cherokee, NC. When looking at houses the requirements were that there had to be hammock trees in the yard, mountain views from the porches, log home with plenty of storage space for my equipment and accumulated junk. Within minutes from the house is great hiking, camping, trout fishing, mountain biking and tons of places to explore in the Smoky's. The house sits 1/4 mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway and 65 yards from the Cherokee Indian Reservation so there's not many houses in the area. I'll miss all my Georgia hanging buddies but look forward to meeting new folks and old friends at the group hangs in NC.
