I'll wait until Doctari finishes researching cold weather kilting... it's wool pants for me!

Sounds interesting, how about a tent with a wood stove for a backup. If it not too far from souther MN I could make it and bring my winter tobaggon camping gear. At least it something to think about for now.

    Share a ride to MN?

May I pick up anyone on the way from NC?

I'll be in my 4 seat pickup, with my pulk sled in the back and room for more.

just started reading the thread - looks like a fun tripping getting planned!

Was about to suggest plenty of water till I glanced at Shugs post

"Drink plenty of water, even though you don't think you are thirsty. Dry winter air will dehydrate you quickly without you noticing until it is too late. Water is necessary for your body to generate heat. A good rule of thumb for checking hydration is the color of your urine. Urine will be light colored or clear if you are properly hydrated. "

I'm looking forward to following this thread!

Mac, If you come thru the Minneapolis I would be glad to catch a ride w/you. Arrive hear the day before and I'll put you and anyone else up for the night. Can also stay the night after and refresh before the long ride home. I garauntee the cold will sap the desire to drive straight home.
