Dee Valley and Inverclaud,,,,,and lots of others,,,,only makes sense he'd spend a bit of time in the park as THE Cottage is down the Dee.
Anyway really enjoyed the pics Rich.

Any chance of a look at those paintings sometime Bill, it'd be nice to see if I recognise the Dee area in any of them

Thanks for the kind comments Str1der, I have the same thoughts when I see the scale and variety of your country, the closest I've been to Georgia was Cancun in 2000 and NY in 2003

I've just stuck my kit list up if anyone's interested

Quote;Much of the Cairngorm region looks very similar, it's a mix of high heather moorland, rounded summits around 3-4000ft, winding glens with patches of the old Caledonian forest remaining, i.e big old pines, the ground is covered in either bilberries or heather, sandy under foot, Quote.

All those Glens and mountains you listed Bil are very close to where we were. We were in an offshoot of the Dee valley. Balmoral, which is the royal families estate in the area is also in the Dee valley, a few miles away from our camp.

The malt of choice for the weekend was 'Lochnagar', distilled under the same mountain. If you look up the gaelic translation of Lochnagar, you will probably chuckle to yourself every time you see the name. I know I do when I drink it

I reckon there might be some pics from Clova and Muick before too long, they are on the list for a return visit.

+1 on what rich says, it would be nice to put a place to your paintings.

What an amazing variety of landscapes, all on one trip.
There's no way one could get bored! Your first campsite was nestled into some gorgeous scenery! Thank you so much for the extra effort to make an outstanding trip report.
