I'm still trying to figure out when I'll be there. I'll have school obligations through to 10 p.m. on Thursday, so I'll either come in then, or first thing Friday morning.
Also, I have some gear that I don't really need at the moment. I was thinking about throwing it up on the For Sale forum, but I thought I'd offer things up here first. Here's what I've got:
1) GoLite Jam 50L (used for half a season, repaired a small hole (dime-sized) in the webbing on one of the hipbelt pockets) - $80
2) REI Revelcloud Jacket (M - Blue) (tags off, but worn for less than 30 minutes) - $80
Thursday nite some will be there, like HomeMadeHIker and Doctari
I don't know whether I can make it on Thursday, but I'll try.
Check out the link above and posts 168 and 183 for information.

Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.
My wife and I were in Brown County over the weekend, so I drove down to show her the area. The colors are looking really nice and she enjoyed the hike to the cemetery. The place was packed! We passed a group of about 10 guys, and a few other couples. Most of them didn't look like hammockers - someone was carrying a pot the size of a 5-gallon bucket! They left their fire going in camp by the pond so I put it out. Shame on you!
I'm looking forward to making it depending on how my plans turn out!
I got a fire steel at the renaissance fest a few weeks ago, custom made shape / size, but didn't get to try it for several reasons: No flint, no time, no skill, etc.
SO, if anyone has flint & skills & can show me how to use the darn thing, I'd appreciate it, a LOT! I mostly want to see if my blacksmith made it too hard, cause it seems VERY hard when I scraped it on a piece of concrete to get the wax off (He put it on to keep the steel from rusting for the week he had it made till I could fetch it.) but as I have no flint, I can't really test it properly. He had a small piece of flint, but with minimal (OK, NO) skills,,,,,,
Thanks!

I'll be coming in early on Friday morning, depending on how early I can force myself out of bed. Hoping to be there by 9 or 10 am. If you haven't left yet, Mule, I might tag along on your hike to Jones Hollow.

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver
The weather channel predicts:
Thursday, 77/53, 20%/20%
Friday 54/40, 40%/40%
Saturday 50/36, 30%/0%
Sunday 50/34, 0%
If anyone would like to post their cell phone number, should we put the numbers here on the forum or post them on PM's only?

I hope to leave by around 1000 on Thursday. May not head straight to the Cemetery / hangout site, I will play it by ear.
Since I'm not sure if I'll get to the hangout in a straight line, I'll do directions here instead of marking the trail: Follow the BIG trail from the fire tower to the Cemetery. NO sharp turns, no side paths. The trail stays at least 9' wide all the way. At the Cemetery, follow the fence to the right to it's end, then follow the fence to the left, almost to the end of the fence, go right, there you are. The trail IS a road to get to the Cemetery as it isn't abandoned, just hard to get to.
