    Smile Another first timer!

Looking for the best summer hammock for a larger guy. Will want a separate setup for all other seasons. I don't want a tippy hammock. Don't mind the price, just want to get the best the first time. I'm 59 and looking forward to the new adventure! Thanks....

Welcome aboard. And it really depends on what your doing. Is it for backpacking, car camping, backyard? If you backpacking and want all season, then Blackbird or maybe a JRB Bear Mountain bridge would be the way to go. If your looking for just something to hang in, then there a lot of choices like an ENO double nest, etc.

Welcome to HF. There are many fine hammocks to select from. However there are a few variables that influence hammock selection. Such as height, weight, and intended purpose. They need to be considered when making a selection.

    Gonna need more info
I tend to use my "summer" hammock year round, I just have to add more insulation when the temps start dropping.

I've tried 3 hammocks myself that didn't seem tippy. The hennessy, the blackbird and clark.
I've also got several of the types that don't have bug-netting attached, like eno, grand trunk and they seem quite tippy to me.

Speaking of larger guys, I'm fixing to order a Blackbird for my husband. I'd highly recomend this hammock as it's really easy to set up and set up right with very little experience or practice.
