    Cuben Tarp lovers

Im about to pick up a HG 4 season. Love the weight and the doors. My question is are you all using these in the summer as well? Or how are you rolling the doors upfor a good air flow in the hotter months. Is there a cottage that makes cuben hex tarps for 3 season. At 6.5oz it beats my WBBMJ but Im a gear head and just know Ill have to have two cuben tarps, or is thay just silly? Appreciate your input.

Your not silly,,if you are,,then I am too,,,lol,,however,,you can fold the doors either inside or outside on the tarp, hang it in porch mode..for me,,one tarp like the cuban with doors would do for all seasons as light as it is. Just my 2 cents. But I will have one eventually myself.

I use my EMS 11x8 cuben no doors for 3 season when hiking.
I use a 11.5 x 14 syl nylon with doors for winter that stakes to the ground (no air gap)
I will hike with it but prefer pulling a pulk.

    3 season

Im probably will use the HG for all unless I pull the trigger on this thru hike Ive been considering.
Knowing myself , I wont be able.to stand not having one for both occasions....sigh

@shug ...more enticement! Haha this is your fault to begin with. As with hammocking period. I typed in searched "tarps for backpacking ideas on youtube, next thing I know Im swingin from trees and talking about the newest dutchware. Thanks !!!

@outandback....thats just the way I had pictured it! Didnt know about EMS tarps. Ill def start looking at them. Great looking rig by the way!

Glad to know Im not the only guy who needs every piece of gear ever made. Only if I could afford it.

I plan on using mine for 3 season and winter. Don't really see why you'd need a hex and door version. It's really easy to roll the doors up and the winter version is already plenty light. Save the money for gas getting you to your many adventures with your cuben tarp.

Yeah having both seems silly but the gear troll in my head says I can save a few more ounces in the summer with both. Haha.

Im pushing 28.5oz on my suped up dutched-out WBBB so a 4oz hex may endup in there somewhere for long hikes/3 season. Who needs gas, thats why I hike. :-)
