I think there is a thread out there on how to make the cat cuts.
Although I ma not that interested in getting it specific and perfect. I just use the "whoop-it-in-there" method.

Thanks for all your help. I will use the remainder of the Tyvek and make some water-proof stuff sacs and maybe a pack cover.... wooooo whoooooo the possibilities are limitless!!!

    Okay guys and galls....

I just cut my rain fly out of Tyvek using his pattern for the 9'X9' and it looks GRREEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!

The wife is out there now washing her car so no pics. But tomorrow I will post one.

And the tarp weighs in at (prior to seaming it up and adding the Grosgrain pull-outs) 14.75oz. I don't like the way it sounds.

As I was flipping it over to fold it up and bring it inside, it sounded like Aluminum Foil.

I hope that will change once I beat it up and krinkle it so it is more playable.
Thanks again to hppyfngy for working it out for us.

I can't wait for it to cool down so I can hang out a while.

If the crinkling is too much for you you can toss in the washer. No soap, short cycle. You can toss it in the dryer for a minute too, but not for long. It will shrink.

Or just hang it. Once it's hung it's not very noisy, at least from my observation. I've hung near it, but I haven't used it myself so as usual I actually don't know what I'm talking about.... ymmv

Yeah, I heard to throw it in the dryer with some shoes to "beat it up" to remove the slick finish on it, but that was for a ground cloth. I figured the same rule would apply to the foil-sounding noise when it flapped.

Trying to finish up my under quilt now so the tarp will be top of the list this weekend.

Very nice. Any close-up-pics of the seam?

No seams on Convert2010's Tyvek tarp John. He started with a 9'x9' piece and lopped two corners off.

Doesn't get much simpler than that...

no seams. Like happyfngy stated I used a 9'x9' slice of tyvek and trimmed to corners.

now, once I find a way to change the color, I will make it a camo pattern or something like that.

    I'm just all-seeing and all-knowing like that.

You, my friend, like a lot of men, might be a little colorblind. I can see red chalk on three edges plain as day.
