    Hiking!

Here is the hiking option I'm considering for Saturday's hike. Refer to the attached map. Buck Lake is where the (4) is circled.

We need to get back to Buck Lake before the group photo, so depending on what time we get head out, we could start at Alexander Springs (1) on the map, or where FT crosses County Road 445 (2) on the map.

Either way we hike back to Buck Lake. I'm hoping that we can convince a few non-hikers to drop us off at the starting point (they can use my car).

There's always the hike around the lake for those looking for a short trip.

I'll be glad drop folks off before I head out to do the shopping for the evening dinner bash.

You provide the fuel. Denatured alcohol (Lowes or Home Depot) or Heet, Yellow NOT Red bottle (Walmart) will be fine. Work gloves are not required but are always a good idea.

If anyone would like to help lead this, please PM me.
This activity would be great for a kid who you know is okay with tools & fire but of course a parent has to be there too.

I just opened a shipment of paracord in multiple colors for the paracord bracelet workshop for the kiddies. BTW, there's no age limit for the "kiddies"

I'm planning on teaching a cobra stitch for the survival bracelets. If someone else knows a different stitch, I welcome the chance to learn something new!

Mike, I might suggest tacking on a little bit more and following the Florida Trail past Buck Lake to Farles. A few of us hiked there from #3 last year and it's a nice little hike. Then you just follow the FS roads back. At least another option if anyone wants to hike a little more.

Good point JaxHiker. Depending on schedule we could continue past Buck Lake. The trick is going to be getting everyone moving after the mountain man breakfast (not easy) and back before the group photo shoot.

So, I just signed up to come Friday night and hopefully hang (all night) for the first time in a hammock with you folks. Sounds like it should be a great time!
