What are the benefits of these, if you don't mind me asking?

Allows the tarp to be rolled up and out of the way when not needed, also allows you to roll a wet tarp and hang it over your pack so it can dry out.

Sorry but not buying the second part, although I hear it all the time. If you roll your tarp up, seven or eight rolls, no way it's gonna dry out hanging outside your pack. It won't get your other stuff in the pack wet though.

True....I use mesh skins to wrangle my tarp but it never dries out like folks think. But I do love my skins.

That is what they advertise a them for, since I haven't used a pair yet I don't have any firsthand experience, I want them to roll my tarp up and out of the way for during the day when its not needed and will be ordering a set soon.

I ordered mine over the weekend and got them yesterday. Superb product. Took out the tarp, sleeved them up, and happy with the results!

    MountainGoat produces excellent products.

Katharina makes great stuff that's for sure, but not only skins, her wool hats are beautiful too.

Wouldn't another benefit be that they could protect the tarp from UV damage when left suspended for longer periods?

I really need to get myself some sleeves for my SF... I guess I know where to go now!
I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.
