2qzq recommended quest outfitters... I used 7 pole sections, 6 with the connector and one without the connector... They were the .344 nano light aluminum sections... I ended up cutting off 12.5 inches but I may remove another 1/2 inch and see what that does... The guys at quest were easy to deal with, shipped fast and reasonable...

I have a Guide Gear tarp that I added a double pole mod. I found that the stakes held better if I placed them towards the inside of the tarp. This also allowed me to pull it down close to the ground. Doing it this way, it didn't pull on the stakes to bad. When I first tried it, I had the stakes out away from the tarp, and it seemed to want to pull the stakes out. .....RR

Great looking tarp setup. I just ordered my Camo SF! Having not used anything that wasn't DIY before, I can't wait to try it out!

I love my tarp... Slept under it almost a week now... The pole mod really opens it up... But even without it, its still a massive tarp... And it has a ton of rigging options... I closed it off for the first time the other night and it was interesting being closed in on 5 sides and wind still passing underneath... I have really enjoyed it... And the match of it with the WWM and buginator brings my sleep shelter system to a little less then 2.5 lbs

It is a huge tarp for the weight. In the thread where it is pitched on the ground the TS measured 12' x 7' x 3' with it pitched as flush to ground as is possible with a cat cut... I knew it was big but hadn't measured and was pretty shocked by those numbers for what is basically its minimum dimensions.

One of my main criteria when I bought the Superfly was the ability to comfortably ride out a full day of nasty weather should I get stuck. It hasn't happened yet, but I'm confident I will be dry and have plenty of room to cook and move around a bit when it does. In fact once it warms up a bit I think I'll try hiking in specifically for a storm.

Just ordered mine today, lookin' for camo superfly fodder. Wasn't planning on getting a camo one initially but they had a couple on the shelf vs. a 3-week back order on the solid color, so I'm gettin' a camo tarp!

Never really jingled my bells before but now that I've ordered it I'm actually pretty pumped about it.

That's the way to do it right there. Supreme confidence after that in your ability and your gear's. Hope to read that trip report.
