Hey thanks, Poppabear!
C'mon Greg! It was only 4 hours to the trailhead from Santa Rosa. We have some very cool hiking around here, try to enjoy it when you can
Hey MuseJr., would you believe I am indiginous to your area? Yep, I'm a California transplant.
Great hearing from you Shug! I am super-lucky to have a partner that likes hammock camping. As a bonus to both of us, the seaweed and mushrooms are another interest for us to explore together.
Cheers CamWaite, sr1355, and bigbamaguy! Thanks for commenting.
Hey Hangnout, thanks for the kind words. It helps that both are only 18" wide at the foot spreader bar. As you can see the bugnet on these is the inverse of how you are doing yours. I am still working it out in my mind to try it your way sometime soon

What a delightful trip! Thanks for sharing it with us. Beautiful pics.
I go back to visit family but I can't live there anymore. CA has this strange bird that flies around every night and lights up your entire yard. I believe it was called a "ghetto bird". I enjoy having deer and elk in my yard here like you had on your trip. If only they would get some good calamari that wasn't breaded and fried to death here, it would be perfect.
DBH,
Good spot for anything, hammocking just improved it.
Please explain your chairs. They look like mossy net..? is that an optical illusion?
Do a thread on those please!!
They look great. Hate to see those things get missed.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
Great photos, thanks for sharing.... those elk were no joke! Very cool.
Good luck,

Yeah, I guess it is an optical illusion! You must be referring to the second photo. What you are seeing is the fore shortened end of two DIY bridge hammocks. I set the timer, but didn't get settled into a reclining position by the time the camera snapped the shot.
I did bring an Insultex Jerry chair. But I only used that for insulation under my hammock.

What a beautiful place! And yeah, the Elk were a little close for comfort, but man, what a sight!

Excellent shots of your trip! Looks like you had a blast and how wonderful to get visited by the locals. Heh heh.
