    M50 HG Incubator

Well, I went and picked up my new HG 20* Incubator from the folks at the Hammock Gear shop. I'm absolutely loving this M50 material vs. the standard 1.1 ripstop. The brown I'd picked out initially came out a fantastic copper color once the down was inside which goes great with the grey interior.

On the scale I believe it was 21oz? With draft collars and suspension.

One thing I'll be looking for in particular is it's wind resistant properties. M50 is apparently just breathable enough not to have condensation issues but is more wind resistant than 1.1 ripstop. This hypothetically should enhance the insulating properties, having a reduction in loss of heat through convection. Hopefully this will negate the need for me to get a UQ protector as well like I was planning. Hypothetical ounces saved, score.

    Take a gander..

Wow Slo...21 ozs for full length? Thats fantastic! That thing looks like it could float away.

Been thinking about going to an incubator, find the pad under my feet somewhat annoys me, but I like having it to sit on. This might push me over the edge though...

    Cheers

I was thinking of going partial but I love the set it and forget it factor once it's dialed in.. I flail around like a fish out of water when I sleep. You should definitely rock an incubator

Appreciate it buddy, was pleasantly surprised how nice it came out. Loving the loss of 8oz's.

Oooooh...purty! My DIY quilt is coyote brown 1.1, and once it was filled, it turned the same color as yours. It's amazing how thin these fabrics are, but can still hold in all that down.

You'll have to hope that winter actually comes back to Ohio this year to use it though. I think we're pretty much done at this point.

You're going to love it, outstanding stuff. I thought 1.1 was silky.. this stuff..

hah, using this thing regardless. Gonna have to use it year-round anyhow, when I do get a summer quilt the gf will end up with it, lol.

Emphasis on "get it out on the trail", we sure missed you last week. Foul weather, gear junkie confessions, hushed whispers of M50 converts.

Yeah, back was acting up. Maybe if I switch everything over to M50 and cuben I'll be in better shape

Missed going out there. It's like a rule we have to have some kind of weather advisory on our get-togethers.
