    Dutch Stingerz Rigging

Apologies for the fuzzy photos up front. Sometimes my camera is funky.
A few pics of Dutch's stingerz on my OES SpinnUL tarp. This method is faster for me than playing with the Tarp Flyz. The stringerz is hooked directly to the pullouts on the tarp ridgeline. Note that I run the Zing-It thru the biner on my hammock straps. Does not seem to have any affect on tarp tension.

Why don't you use the eye in the front to attach the line. Seems like it would be more out of the way.

Thought about that Dutch. Hole seems a bit small to get the closed loop through and lark's headed to the unit. Would be a lot better if that would work.

Could use Zing -It without a loop on the end and lock both ends to the clinch point.

Yea it is little small to larks head. I may make that a tad bigger me next batch. I was thinking it would be spliced or tied on.

Are you planning on cutting off the D-ring since it is not doing anything or are you planning on using it for something else?

Interesting story behind that. Loaned my setup to my Scoutmaster for a week of camping so that he could try out a couple of hammocks before he buys. A Scout no-no - running through camp - caught a guy line and popped the d-ring on the other end of the ridgeline. OES SpinnUL tarp was not damaged other than the d-ring - Zing-It is strong. Scout survived.
So this gave me the opportunity to try the stingerz. The answer is yes, the other d-ring comes off.

Good idea about threading and then splicing. That would solve the problem. I was using the Zing-It that came with the Tarp Flyz so I had not thought of doing my own splicing at that point. More knowledge keeps flowing here.

On the thought of making them slightly larger, a slightly larger unit would make the biner end easier to use on the tie-outs. It is tight but workable. Would also allow the eye to be a little larger.

With the smaller hole, a stopper knot might be sufficient.

This is _sort of_ how I use my Stingers. I'll have an illustration short coming. Like Dutch mentioned, I tie or splice my line in the "eye" in front of the "stinger." I clip the Stinger directly to the tie-out on the tarp.

My preferred line is inexpensive braided mason line. Fits great. Lasts forever.

Agreed. Figure 8 or another that made enough knot to plug the eye. Figure 8 would leave a loop hanging that might be useful for some other function.
