    Ray-Way quilt finished

I finally finished my quilt. I made the Ray-Way deluxe quilt kit with the Alpine upgrade. I got to test it at SEHHA, and it worked great -- it's just what I needed for winter. I really like the draft stoppers.

Edit: I have to also give credit to blackbishop351 for helping me get started with this project. Thanks!

I wondered if you were gonna put some pics up. I saw Patrick's quilt at SEHHA and it looked sweet. Love the color.

Did you have any trouble sewing it on your machine? I'm considering a Ray Way as my topquilt. Then I plan to take lessons learned from that and make an underquilt.

That's definitely a good way to go if you're going to make a Potomac. The construction methods are very similar.

It looks much better in person. The workman ship was excellent.

Agreed, I saw it at the SEHHA Hangout as well, a VERY NICE piece of gear. I think the best thing about going to the hangout was getting to check out all the cool DIY gear. I got bitten by the DIY bug myself, can't wait to get a few things made and then attempt a bigger project, hopefully a BlackCat with a couple little modifications I plan on making.

Nice job! Now that the sewing bug has bitten, what's your next project?

Cool project. I am adding 6 inches of length to my down one (don't ask), then it will be done.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. I did have a little trouble sewing it on the machine, especially with my double layer of 3D. It was a great learning experience.

Next up will be a Hennessy clone or a bug bivvy of some sort. I also have plans to make my nephew and brother-in-law some Speer type hammocks to take to them when I visit them in July.

I've ordered some dark green 1.9 DWR from Rockywoods.com and now I have to see what I want to make first with it. It was a bit expensive, but I really wanted a dark green. This green is called "Greener Pastures" green.
