I'll have to agree with an earlier post.
I've been close to a lifelong boater and it is known that a knot will weaken a line. They are intended to function in their natural state. The problem becomes worse when the knot is taken out. The fibers have been allowed to compress in ways that they shouldn't be. When the knot is taken out, the weakened fibers are now exposed.
My 2 cents.
I've cut it twice and it's still too short.
I've used the 1" stuff from walmart a couple of times the only type I've seen them carry is Nylon webbing. I used it to make a super long dog leash for my dog but I wouldn't hang from it. Of course I'm talking about the webbing in the craft section. Thanks for the tip on the Poly straps from the auto section.
