“Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall when the wise are banished from the public councils because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded because they flatter the people, in order to betray them.” ~Judge Joseph Story

IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
I'm going to return this quilt.
It really didn't work for me very well at Mt. Rogers. It ballooned up into my face whenever I moved, and I'm just not happy with how loose the insulation is inside the outer cover. There's really nothing keeping it connected to the outer cover at all. I ended up sleeping with one hand near my mouth to keep the quilt from blocking my nose and mouth. It really needs some work to make it useable.
Quilt loops would be a must with this quilt. Too many mods would have to be made to really enjoy it.
I think I'm still within my 14 days... gotta get it cleaned and shipped back.
i wish i had taken a look at that quilt while we were there. oh well.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
I sent this quilt back on Saturday.
I had a brief email exchange with Chris at Fanatic Fringe asking what I thought would make it work better with hammocks (since they didn't design these quilts with hammocks in mind). I strongly recommended quilt loops. Hopefully they will include them in the next design for their quilts.
Well, maybe now they'll start! They're well made (I mean they're well, made). I don't know how you can call it a quilt if nothing's actually quilted, though.
I'm not bad-mouthing the company though. The company makes some great stuff -- they just need to work on this particular item a little bit more.

I received a refund for the quilt. I'm very happy about that.
I'm now in the process of making a Ray-Way quilt in blackbishop351's workshop and learning about lots of other DIY stuff as well.
you'll be excited when the quilt's done! it feels good to have something that you put together your self.
