    Cheapest, Lightest Tarp?

Just wondering what yall think it the Cheapest, Lightest tarp you have ever bought short of the Sportsman's Guide. I ask this because I am still using a blue woven tarp and need something that requires less space and is lighter in weight. If I see that the SG tarp is the most sought after, how can you change the color of it...I do not want a white tarp.

    Cheapest, Lightest Tarp

At 9 ounces and $50 it would be hard to beat our 8x8 right now.

    I know ... shameless plug.

    Regards,

Light and inexpensive, thats a oxymoron. Well, not really, but close =)

I think Smee got it right. Their 8x8 tarp is pretty light and fairly inexpenisve. Although, I sure I you look hard enough, you might be able to find a silnylon tarp say 6x8 (pitched on the digional for hammocks) faily inexpensive. The MacCat Mirco is only $65 as well. You might be able to make a DIY tarp fairly inexpensivly.

True, though, Smee. I don't need one at all and I still almost ordered one!

Don't know about the cheapest but the Hennessy stock tarps were the lightest I ever had. I upgraded to the JRB 8x8 which is a fine tarp that is very light yet still offers pretty good coverage. I think bigger silnylon tarps are worth the extra weight due to the great coverage they provide. I now use a JRB cat tarp and Black Cat tarp.

I have a stock Hennessy that I have recently replaced with a MacCat Deluxe (pinto---->caddillac!), however, I want to get a new, inexpensive hammock for my wife who will only use it occassionally. I'm thinking a Claytor Expedition. Can I get adequate coverage of this, or other non-asym hammocks with an asym stock HH tarp?

When planning and providing for ones wife, it is no time to make do. Especially true if it was a piece of equipment that you did not deem ok for your own use.... However, it is your wife so try it if you like

I spare no expense...for my girlfriends. My wife is lucky she's not forced to cowboy camp!

Yeah, that might not go over well: "Honey, you should stay dry under this postage stamp. However, if you do get wet, give me a holler. I'll try to listen for you under this biodome I call the MacCat Deluxe!

I used to make comments like that, until my wife became a member . Now I just hope that she never finds the view all posts button .
