Ok thanks for all the info Scott and the coordinates , wish I didn't sale the gps for that one reason lol . OK now I will have the video below. We did allot of running around and feel the Hickory Creek Trail meets the bill. Plan is to do a short hike in less than 2 miles set up base camp and then do day hikes venturing around. Dave blisterboy just got done battling cancer and is limited on distance and few other have stated they would like to base camp too. Hope the area is too peoples liking. Video still processing dang youtube anyway will post video later guys

Hi folks. Had a great time on the scout trip and in my opinion this would be a great spot for our hang. Right from the parking lot, there is a nice little up hill challange for pulk pullers and snow shoe'rs. Nothing that can't be done, but fun right out of the gate. Right turn, nice and flat to catch your breath, and the scenery is great. But keep one eye on the trail, you will be manouvering over a few downed trees, again, nothing to tough, but just enough to keep it fun and test some skill.A foot of snow and ya might not even see some of them. Then the trail bends to the left and starts down along the ridge. from this point on, you could hang any place along the trail. Great scenery glacial boulders, just a nice chunk of piney woods.

Myteathor, i'm glad your wife is coming! the basecamp plan is ideal. i can bring additional warm gear. if the road conditions are good, i'll be there.
