Congratulations, Dutch
Great work on your entry.
After seeing your entry and the one from Grizz, I about had a camp fire with the wooden bridge.
Now I'm working on how to make it be usefull for the grandkids.

Dutch, I'm glad the tarp turned out how you liked it - it seems that the Standard would fit that model of hammock quite well (When are you starting production?).
NCPatrick - wish I could have made them for all of the contestants, but alas, there was only enough time for one. Next chance to get a free one will be at Trail Days.
Oh I wasn't saying they should have all gotten an OES tarp... just maybe some "lovely parting gifts".

oh I'm sure the rest of us wouldn't mind waiting, or take something in inventory <grin>
seriously though, it was very generous of you to give this prize, and Dutch's entry was the clearly the people's choice. I trust he's gonna chase down that re-enactment model he drafted, and slip him a little something. That was brilliant.
I think Iafte said the rest of us would get HF party favors or something...Iafte?

I do have somewhere in the back of my mind of making a hammock with spreader bars on the bottom like hommock/knapsack. I had to make it from material from the timeperiod, but if I could make it out of some nylon it would be real light. I'm just not sure a hiking pole will hold up, although the pole isn't as extended as a bridge. It was actually pretty comfortable as a hammock. Lousy as a backpack though.
Peace Dutch

I'm working on a design for a mug for those that participated. I'm going to have all the patients on it with Hammock forums in an old style font. Just have not had time to finish it yet. I might get some time this afternoon since most my customers are closed today. Just have to finish working with the Turkish bank this morning.
