yep, heat sickness can be from mineral depletion. Sweating out your electrolytes with out replacing them. Salty snacks, a multivitamin, and some sports drink mix could potentially help. you could drown yourself in water, and still cramp up. I work for a construction company based out of Seattle, and when the crew got down here to work at the beginning of summer, they didn't know what hit them. They were dropping like flies.

There are salt pills you can get. When I worked construction years ago we had them on the job site. Don't wait until your sick to take them. Also it is good to drink mineral water instead of just plan drinking water. Spring water is also better than regular drinking water for the same reason.
I drank a quart of gatoraide on the trail, put an envelope of Emergency in two of my 16 oz store waters, and accepted a small Cherry gatoraide at parking lot two. It could be that my heat regulator (thyroid) is missing.
