What did you have in mind?

Not sure if I mentioned it but I did invite Rangers Kevin & Marceia (& their significant others) to drop by for supper if they liked on Fri or Sat.

If your just logging in, you may want to look at posts #336-339, as well as the first post of this thread for helpful info.
I hope the rangers decide to join us for dinner and stay for Ghost Stories. Should be fun!

I'll be on my way in less than 48 hours.

    Name Tags

One year for our Annual Mt Rogers Area Winter Hang, Stormcrow printed up some nice name tags & presented them to us in a plastic cover with a clip.

Would someone here know how & want to do something like that?
Or perhaps the stick on type & a sharpie.
Some may not be interested in wearing a name tag & that's fine too. But they can be helpful
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Ok, so our generators have to be off at 10pm? What if we have one that just kind of hums?

As far as Rev stating something about being the youngest....on my last hang, and very first hang, which was with a wonderful group of people, but I was the oldest, and felt every bit of it. I'm not going to be the oldest again am I?

.....Oh yea, that's right, it'll be Mom! Never mind.

SlowHike....I think we are going to be ok for warmth. I got all three socks done today which should help quite a bit. I just hope they don't compress our PLUQ too much...I should have made 2 of them bigger, but it is what it is. Dumb me for thinking all the material I picked up was the same width. Thank you so, so much for the offer!

Fair warning fellow hangers, the material I picked up for the hammock socks is not DWR, it is not light weight, and it is what was on sale, and yes...mine is a soft purple. Should anyone short sheet my hammock, I shall find you and feed you to the snipes. Just saying.

    Staying Warm

Something you guy's might want to consider to help you stay warm is to bring a metal Nalgene bottle or the like that has a good tight lid. Putting hot water in it then sliding it into a ziplock bag then into a sock then put it in your hammock with you will really make a difference. Also and I don't know if they have them in the stores yet for Fall, but pick up some of those chemical hand warmers that hunters use. I really like them in my pocket and then I put them in my socks after I get in my hammock! Feels Soooooo Gooooood!!!!

Yes. Also remember that the kerosene space heaters will sound like a small jet through out the whole camp ground.
And the large, amplified speakers on your stereo system will need to be cranked way down too

Sounds like your hammock socks will be styling
I will plan to bring the pea pod anyway, just in case someone needs it.

Ok, gang...I was kidding on the generator bit.

Great idea idcakes....now I just need to figure out what a nalgene bottle is. My husband might have some of those hand warmer thingies though, I'll have to check that out. Also forgot that I have to sleep in socks, yuck, but thanks for reminding me of that one. Sure wish my hubbins could come, but he'll be home "babysitting" all of our dogs...plus he may be delivering puppies while we're gone. Will be his first by himself. Hope she goes late.

Good advice. Also, the plastic type nalgene bottles work just fine too. I've even used gatoraid bottles with no problem.
Putting them in a gallon ziplock bag for extra security is not a bad idea. I've done that quite often myself.
Main thing is to make sure the lid is on good & put it in a sock or anything that will keep your skin from making direct contact w/ the very warm bottle.
