    thanks anyways, Yukon. I heard recently from a friend that the Peapod might be a little on the small side for someone of my proportions. I'm going to wait and see if I can try one before I make a purchase.

    They are 9.5' long by 6' wide.
    If you need wider than that, you would want to look at the polar pod.

    Just jumping in. I love peapods. I am 6'5" and 260 lbs. I wear a size 48 coat. Standard PP is indeed 72" (6') wide when laid out flat. I use a home made speer type gathered end hammock. Enough room for me, but not a lot extra. That just means it is warmer though.

    if you are interested i have a speer synthetic peapod i am wanting to part with. i was asking 200 for it. it is one that ed made before he started making down ones.

    and you can add a sleeping pad expander--mountainhardware has one, it comes with zippers for typical sleeping bag application. We removed zippers and added velcro that mates up with the pods giving another 6-8 inches in the chest area. Just another option for the girth challenged.
