    Reflective "Sun Fly"

The words are too short and common for me to search HF for previous notice of this. Perusing the offerings at Tom Claytor's web page, I found these two reflective rain fly's / tarps.

I don't know that they have been discussed here.

Google search "site:hammockforums.net fly sun shade" will bypass the 4 character search limit. You'll find a thread that is outdated because the material was withdrawn from the market.

When I was researching thermal reflective nylon for a special grizzbeak to house a woodstove I came across this site.

I didn't really find what I wanted but if solar reflection is what you are looking for they have so pretty good stuff.

The pics about these tarps were taken the day before Christmas 2011, so the tarps themselves may be new to the product line.

They don't duplicate other makers' offering. Yes, not terribly light. But inexpensive, too.

Anyone want to buy the big one (3m. x 4m. = 9'9" x 13'), split it, make a pair of hammock socks with the reflective side in, and say it is warmer in winter that way than turned inside out?

Is this material like the stuff Scott sells at DIY Gear Supply? http://www.diygearsupply.com/cgi-bin/shelf.cgi?numb=65
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

I have a piece of marvelseal that I covered a door with outside. It's withstood rain, heat and snow/ice for a year now. It's dull on one side and very reflective on the other. It seems to be quite durable. I think I'll try it out by sewing it to a piece of 1.1 nylon.

Here's a picture of the door I mentioned.

If anyone is interested I'll post pictures of the new project.

Sorry DemostiX - I'm not trying to hijack your thread. I have a roll of marvelseal and I've been trying to think of ways to use it for like forever. This sun tarp thing is a neat idea. I can't believe I never thought to use it on my hammock sock.
