Are we car camping here? I fail to see what trail we are doing?

Yes. Car camping.
OneThing suggest Ridge because it is close to a good trail for some day hikes.

I wont be coming into camp until saturday morning. I typically spend Friday nights with my family and this week is pretty stressed since both my wife and I have to study for exams for Thursday so I wont have time to pack until friday night after work anyway. I'll try not to have too much wine friday night so I can get up before my usual 10:30.

Forecast as of now (Monday afternoon) (wunderground Cobb C.A. STOTTS_3 station) calls for lows in the mid 30s, highs in the upper 50s, not terribly windy.

I called to double check that Boggs is open for camping.

It is ...

BUT ...

They are required to charge for camping now (thank you state assembly bill)

$10 per night, 2 vehicle limit per campsite.
And if we go as individuals, we camp at Calso.

Ridge campsite is a group site, and is (as of now) not yet reserved for a group on our weekend. It is $25 per night.

I will call on Wednesday afternoon and try to reserve Ridge for our group unless anyone violently objects.

Good follow through on the planning, E.A.Y. Thanks for saving us from a confusing surprise upon arrival. BTW, I don't believe I had cel reception when I visited this this area (At&T) FWIW.

It's looking VERY probably for dblhmmck +1 for Saturday afternoon.
I'll plan to chip in on the group camp cost when I arrive on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to meeting other Nor Cal hangers

Thanks for all the positive replies to the new fee information.

I believe it would be 50 for the weekend at the group rate, but I'll double check that when I call them again tomorrow.

I hope you Nor-Cal folks have a great time. Wish I could could join you but as long as there is snow in the mountains, it's hard for me to commit to anything else. Maybe I could come for another hang later in the spring.
