I would have to go up a day early, and then leave on Saturday because of work. But I just might roll up there if I can afford the gas to get there. it would be a great place to hang.
Because you fall through the clouds if you try to lay on them, so the next best thing is a hammock.
So to be on the safe side I'll get up there sat. AM and get 2 sites. If we need to car pool
Up there I know a place where can park the extra cars.

I wanted to summarize the plan so far into a single post so one doesn't have to read through the whole thread - feel free to copy and edit as appropriate.
So Cal Hang August 20 thru Aug 21 (assuming this is a one day event unless folks arrive on Friday, Aug 19).
Location: Big Bear (http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=34.30...z=15&t=h&hl=en)
GPS Coordinates: ?? -- Triggerhpy, on the link above, it appears that the location where the map is centered is on Van Dusen Canyon Rd/3N16 (Polique Canyon Rd.), can you confirm if this is where we are all meeting/setting up camp?
What to bring:
Nat'l Forest Adventure Pass ($5 daily or $30 year)
Fire Permit (just in case - it's free and good for a year)
Hammocks!
Food (will we need a menu plan or list of what everyone is planning on bringing?)
Water (bring enough water for yourself and whoever you're taking with you, assuming the location we are going to be vehicle dependent)
** Let me know if this sounds too formal, I'm just used to seeing my other clubs organize events this way **
List of folks scheduled...copy and paste the list below and add your name if you are planning on going.

That's great Mangus! Thanks for tying everything together in one post.
Hey, this sounds great, I am very familiar with the area, I am up there at least 1 weekend a month, but usually 2 or 3. With my work schedule, I wont know if I am working until a day or two before, but if I have the time off I will be there.
If you go to the Holcomb valley campground, the camp host is Perla, very nice, and very helpfull
Thanks for the PM Lizzie & thanks to all the planners of this. Regretfully I'll be unable to attend this one but look forward to a group hang in the future. Have a great time all!
19 days till the Holcomb Valley Hang. SO start getting your gear list and food menus. Time will soon be getting short.
We have a Stater Bros. and a Vons if you need to round out your shooping before you drive up to camp.
I'm looking forward to seeing ya'll.
