    Question about UQ

I am from the UK and thinking of making myself a under quilt. The only problem is that I can get a supply of Down. Could i use an old synthetic filled sleeping bag as a under quilt. The lowest temp I will need it for will be about -5oc. So if this could be done will I use a bag that is rated for -5oc or lower

Synthetic in an old bag will have already broken down some & lost insulation quality. It will also be colder than an equal weight in down.

Any chance in finding an old down bag at a garage sale or want ads?
