My wife and I were "testing" a new Byers Traveller Lite and a Grand Trunk Double this evening in the back yard. We have 2 4x4 posts set at a V with a Pecan tree as the central attachment point and had it set up so we could hang 3 hammocks at once. We were using the built in stuff bags they came with to hold the beer. Worked pretty good until one of our 2 4x4 hanging posts broke about a foot above the ground and placed our buts on the ground. We looked at each other and started laughing. We were not hurt. Of course the beer spilled and I am know washing the hammocks. Waste of good beer.
My real concern is that the post is buried 4 feet in the ground and concreted in place. Not looking forward to digging up the buried part so I can plant a new post
If I develope the beer hanging system I will contact you about testing the system but you will have to provide your own beer for testing

Hang your hammock indoors, next to the fridge.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
I've raised this issue before...just any old post isn't good enough...inspect them carefully for knots. I once tossed a 5x5 off of a truck, and watched, stunned, as it snapped in two when it hit the ground. A higher quality post can be had by glueing and screwing 3 2x4s together.

Thinking I should move a fridge outside by the hammock.Hang your hammock indoors, next to the fridge.

A freind and I were hiking up Grandfather mountain in the early 80's, we hid a 6 pack of beer in the last creek before the top of the moutain so we could have a cold one or two or three on the way back.
On the way back down we came across some hikers coming up the trail drinking beer and talking about how they found it in the creek when they stoped to get water. Apparently we did not hide the beer as good as we thought we had. At least there was one beer left and we shared it while heading back down.
