It is great place for hammock camping you could literally camp almost anywhere out in the Black hills. It is ideally suit to hammock camping. I Love it out there. For any rock climbers on the forum, there is bolted climbing route up to the side of George Washington's face that is super cool. Everyone should see Mt. Rushmore in person. All that being said I am more than likely going to be in the BWCA around that time.

So, it's only a 1200 miles, or 21 hours as Mr. Google drives. Tempting.

got our logo approved by the fine folks here at hammock forums so here it is

probably going to be making up t-shirts for the hang and will be selling them for our cost, not sure what that will be at this point though, guessing around $20

thinking the logo will go on the front with some sort of saying on the back, "elevate your perspective" "any day above ground is a good day" or my girlfriend thought "hang em high" would be good, kinda a homage to the area, i think i like it too, and also the hammockforums.net on back too

anyways just thought i'd post and let you guys see, any comments are welcome

if your interested in a t-shirt, i added a column to the Spreadsheet so that we can get an idea of how many we will need

I THINK I will have to fire up the Harley and make this date. I am going to visit in Bozeman some time this summer, and I have a project in Butte. Plus I want to see where my grandfather was raised. The Hang would work in very well.

I would have loved to have done this trip, I've never been to the Dakotas. But I'll be on a beach in North Carolina that weekend with a beer in hand watching the Sun rise and set.

    I've been there

I joined here just to encourage all of you to visit the Black Hills if possible, it's a little bit of God's country for sure..

Had my second honeymoon there 9 years ago..

the area is splendid and August is the best time to be there.. especially after the Sturgis crowd has thinned. you can hike, bike, and especially motorcycle, the roads are perfect for it.. weather should be perfect..

Has anyone from the twin cities shown interest in going to this? The pup and I would still love to make this hang, but again, I really don't want to do the 10 hour drive solo.
