    Knot question for ENO hammock

    Hello,

I have been lurking the forum for quite a while now and have finally decided to come out of the shadows to ask a question

I got some free Dyneema rope from a friend and wanted to use it to add a structural ridgeline to my ENO hammock. I have seen some of the posts showing how others have done it, but I didn't read (or maybe didn't see) what knot was used to attach the ridgeline. so with that in mind here are my questions...

What knot for attaching Dyneema directly to ENO rope just above the gathered ends?

What knot for attaching Dyneema directly to a carabiner/ring that would make for an easily removable ridgline?

Thanks in advance for the help!

    KEN

is the cord that you have splice-able? if so for a fixed length ridge line you can use fixed eyes on both ends or make a whoopie sling and use that as an adjustable line. as for using knots in dyneema you'll have to wait for someone more knowledgeable to chime in.

+1 for cinnamon. If you like the idea of being able to dial in the length, I would definitely go with a whoopie-type ridgeline. If not, larksheading a fixed eye, and then clipping another fixed eye into your biner would be a much more reliable option than a knot. Dyneema wants knots to slip--it's just the nature of the beast .
You're gonna need a bigger hammock
