as with anything it is possible to tie it too tight - some people have broken the ridge line by trying to get the hammock extra tight - myself I pull it reasonably tight - estimated 100 pounds of force on the line I am pulling before tieing the knot - generally I always lay in the hammock for a few minutes and then retie it or shift the position of the tree hugger straps up a little

WOW! Now that's what I call fast and helpful responses! I post, I go away from my computer for 30 or 40 minutes absolute max, and I come back and there's about a dozen responses! And I think the consensus is: hang 'er tight!
    Thanks

Another vote for making it as tight as possible.... and then lay in the hammock for a few minutes and the go re-tighten it again.

He's married (I think). Us married folk don't get a lot of sex, at least from our wives (I'm just kidding. No hate mail)
