    New LeighLo Trapezoid UQ

A little over a week ago I was talking with LeighLo about getting an UQ for my WBBB 1.1 Dbl. After some talk they mentioned that they were working on a new trapezoid design. I liked the sound of it and made my order.
Well I received it in the mail on my Birthday while I was out on an overnighter.

Last night I finally had a chance to set it up in my back yard and sleep in my WBBB for the first time! Was a good warm nights sleep.
The adjustments were very simple and I had no issues at all.
    The quality is top notch

The UQ covered everything but my head and feet completely.
But with my feet in my footbox of my sleeping bag top quilt I never had any issues with cold spots.

I could not be happier with this product and will be talking to her about getting a matching Top Quilt to complete the set!

    16oz in stuff sack

    foot end 35 inches
    head end 45 inches
    60 inches long

What is the design idea behind having it be a trapezoidal shape?

Well i'm sure they can answer that better but.
to reduce unneeded coverage and in return save a little bit of weight.

    Looking good Gary_R.

I am still waiting for my Leighlo full length underquilt and 15 degree top quilt. It is sitting in customs at the moment. If is wasn't for the postal labour disruption in Canada that went on for almost a month, I would already have my quilts.

As for the trapezoid shape, I asked hangnout that question and he replied that it was a weight saving measure due to your feet not needing such a wide quilt to stay warm. The other benefit of the trapezoid shape is that it helps keep the down from shifting to the foot end of the quilt due to the shape.

    Cheers

I asked for something in the 40-45 range.
So that's the rating I will say but I bet I would easily be comfortable in it at 40.

What Gary_R said and it also helps seal better on the foot end since you do not have to draw the end up very much. Something most people may not realize is that many UQ's that use darts etc are shorter on the ends than the middle. We think the trapezoid shape allows more wrap around the shoulders then reduces the width on the foot end to provide a good seal. I think the shape becomes more important with UQs over 48"

Conservative 30* rating. A lot of people could use it even lower. The baffle size is between Leigh's summer UQ and the standard 3S.
