    Tree hugger length?

    Hi folks

I just got my blackbird with the strap/line suspension along with some whoopie slings. I'm sitting at work and can't check, but does anyone know how long the straps are that come with the suspension? I'm just wondering if they will be long enough to use with whoopie slings and a marlinspike or if I need to make longer straps.

    Thanks!

The straps that come with the Blackbird line and strap suspension are plenty long enough for whoopie sling use for the majority of the trees you are likely to encounter in Ontario. For the rare big one, just make your self an amsteel suspension extender and you will be good to go.

    Cheers

Thanks! I had a look when I got home and they definitely are a good length.

Could I make an extender out of the lines for the original suspension? It would be a good chance to learn to splice.

You could certainly do that. When I had my Blackbird, I made a pair of extenders from 1 of the suspension lines.
