    Speer Top Blanket III

I'm looking at getting a Speer Top Blanket III when my tax money comes in. I already got some intel from Ed on it, but wanted to see if anyone here has any experience with it. I want to use it in combination with my SnugFit for my top insulation. Any info anyone has on it at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanx a mil in advance!

No experience with them, but I have been thinking of getting one myself, to go with my PeaPod or use in my SS. I don't think I've read anything here about them. Wonder how they compare with a No Sniveler?

Probably a more fair comparison would be the JRB Hudson River quilt $219 (199 on sale) 19 oz

Hmmm. The Speer would be too short for me at 72" long.

I've got one (regular non-overfill), and like it pretty well. I've used it with just my SnugFit and a midweight baselayer + balaclava into the upper 20's F.

The Top Quilt is a simple, but versatile piece of gear. I use the mine year round (with SnugFit in the cold, with 2 layer hammock + thin pad in the summer).

Note the width, though, is 3.5ft. If you're particularly large framed, you might want one that's wider for the most versatility. I'm happy with the size for me, though.
