Thanks Jeff! I'm looking for tutorials to tie the diamond/lanyard knot. I've seen a few but haven't found "the one" that makes it obvious how to do it.

Why do I have the Door's "The End" song in my head? Thanks, that one was clearer than some tutorials I've seen.

    Showing your age there, Patrick!

Yeah, the first part seemed a little awkward to me; I find it easier to just set up a Carrick Bend and then route the tails under and into the center hole. The last part of the video showed that part clearly enough to keep me straight.

This one's not bad if you pause it frequently.

That's my favorite - seems clear to me and shows how to get the loop situated properly.

Great test findings Schneiderlein I have been waiting for a long time to get these tested. I figured it would fail at the knot. I was not sure if the knot would capsize or the line would break. As mentioned, the legs to not have to be equal, but I feel they need to be close, your testing may indicate otherwise.

As far as the comments on the other stopper knots, remember, these were originally posted for "light duty" tasks to replace non-rated biners. As the WS came about, I figured what the heck, they are strong enough, let's try it.

I will edit my original post to indicate this.

The lanyard knot, as I mentioned is a little cumbersome to tie and why I discussed a more stoppers.

I practice tieing a carrick bend, then the lanyard knot a few times before moving on the the real thing on my projects. I usually use two separate ropes, or the tails of one of sufficient length that they essentially two ropes as far as the knot is concerned.

I can't figure that one out. I miss having Grog's animated knots show me how. Can any of you pinpoint that knot on his site? I don't think it's on there.
