    Ah, very good. Misunderstood what the term meant then. I was thinking it meant the baffles ran side-to-side as opposed to the length of the quilt.

    That would be horizontal baffles as opposed to longitudinal. Too many terms! lol.

    I have a JRB Mount Washington 3 convertible and I love it I use it as a 2/3 under quilt (UQ) in the summer. When it gets cooler I put the whole UQ together. Then when it gets near 0F I add a thermarest pad to it. It works great!

    I suppose because it is a more expensive approach. At least with fancier baffles, I'm not sure a dif cut would actually cost more to make.

    There is one advantage to a non-snug design, at least with a Speer PeaPod. It makes it easy to hang it more loosely, and then add whatever extra like down vests or jackets or a light quilt, to obtain about whatever amount of insulation you might need.

    But I wonder if that could also be done by just hanging a snug design more loosely? I don't know, but it is easy to do with a PeaPod.
