NB: While Hancock Fabrics does not list the weight of their ripstop on their website, I have bought some and weighed it. It does weigh in at 1.9 ounces per square yard (at least, the black does).

Surely, God could have made a better way to sleep.
Surely, God never did.
Thanks for all the thanks.
It was really easy, it just took time that not everybody has.
I'm sure it will be a big help to everybody looking at buying cheap materials (including me).
Hopefully I can get it stickied some day.
I haven't ordered from them, but they tempt me: check out kitebuilder.com . The problem is their ripstop (i.e. lightweight sail cloth) doesn't follow the other standards - its available in 0.5, 0.75, and 1.5 oz/yd weights. I have no idea how a $4.50/yd 0.75oz 2nd would hold up on say the inside of a quilt, but I kinda want to try .
Still doesn't beat diygearsupply, if you like green, and we're not their market...
Great Job!! Thanks, and another plug for DIY Gear Supply.
Thanks for doing this scouter, been wanting to do this myself, just haven't had the time. I owe you a tasty beverage of your choosing.

Checking the spreadsheet, the weights of the "owfinc taffeta" should probably be listed as the ripstop is, and M90 should be respectively. They're "nearly" identical fabrics. Also, owf's ripstop/taf is "Intrepid".
The TiGoat SevenD fabric isn't listed: http://www.titaniumgoat.com/SevenD.html
Another disparity is finished weights vs uncoated weights. M90, Intrepid, etc, are 0.9oz unfinished. Their coated weights are more like 1.05-1.10.
The listed weights for SevenD and M50/55 are listed on the websites as "finished" post-coat weights, and are the actual fabric weights.
Most 1.1oz fabrics weight 1.25oz+.
