    Photo tribute-HG 4season cat cuben

also know by some as the Winter Palace.
but at this weight it is a tarp for all seasons.
Thanks to Paul at AHE mine has received a perfectly fitting cf pole.
Stormcrow did a beautiful job on the pockets and the tie on the center of the ridge line. This is IMHO the current ruler of all tarps:

I love the pole mod too. I think it was TQ/ZQ who came up with it but not sure.
It sure beats the side pull out cords and all the real estate they take up and all the potential knotting in the stuff sack and it helps shed big wind that hits the tarp broadside by giving a dividing edge to both sides.

FIMB I'll weigh the pole tomorrow when I wake up...I'm going to guess now at 2.5 ounces because this is my 3rd pole mod, each pole bit different in length. So the cord for side pullouts, how much would that weigh....it does create a lot of room inside and as we learned on Mt.Rogers it keeps mounting snow from pushing the tarp against you and the hammock.

Absolutely right, I love the pole mod, either way you do it, over or under. It's become a must for me. I'm so used to the crazy amount of space I get anymore and it just stablizes the tarp SO much, snow and wind become a non-issue. Also helps keep the tarp taught (though you don't really have an issue using cuben) But the pole is MOST DEF worth both ounces on my back forthe comfort it and space it provides. Also love not having to run MORE lines
