Only reason my new Trail Lair isn't here yet is because of the special order material. Even though Jared probably hasn't received the material yet, and hasn't sent out a shipping notice yet, I still half expected it to be in my mailbox today! That's how amazingly awesome SLD is.

I got my first SLD hammock (Trail Lair) a week and a half ago. It is AWESOME and arrived lickety-split! I've already spent three nights in the woods with it and I love it! A few days ago I ordered a custom double layer Multicam kid-sized Trail Lair (the Micro Lair) for my friend's young daughter. It arrive this morning and pairs beautifully with my friend's WBBB XLC, bunk fashion from the same two trees! Little Lilla's first ever hammock is a work of art--a thing of beauty!

THANKS, JARED!!! (If you're out there reading the HF...don't know how you'd possibly have time enough to be reading here, though, with your record for sewing non-stop the moment each and every order arrives!)

BTW, I love the SLD Single Sleeve tarp skin, too!

That Multicam Micro Lair is fantastic; I DIY'd something similar for my daughter (on a scaled-down double-layer Trail Lair pattern), but the real deal can't be beat!

I emailed him and suggested that he ask for SLD to get their own subforum in the manufacturer's section. But he says he doesn't advertise or promote; his work is referral and repeat customers. "If they want to start a subforum, they can, but I won't be the one to request it."

I mean, I get it, it's one more thing to have to check on or do, and I think those forums are made for people to interact with the manufacturers, which he might not participate in. Guess he likes to keep things low key.

I've been trying to accomplish the same thing. I've been dealing with Jared since he first started out and wanted the subforum for the purpose of organizing the various threads. Jared keeps a low profile and that's fine...it's how he rolls! I really don't think the mods will ever consider the subforum until they see a post from Jared. Here's the link to the thread I started to get the subforum:

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...d.php?t=136262

Oh, and here's the link to my SLD 101 Guide to Posts that I put together to make it easier to find things, since the SLD posts are spread all over:
    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...d.php?t=129307

I find it ironic that there are numerous subforums for not so active vendors or vendors with poor customer service and yet it's so difficult to get one established for a vendor like SLD. He does great work, ships fast and excels at one on one customer communication.

Maybe he's able to get order out so quickly because he isn't that popular. Adding a subforum would get him on the radar of many more people, and he might be overwhelmed? The fact that he wants to keep things the way it is, I really like.

I just got a bugnet from him within 2 business days. Good stuff
    I'd rather be hanging.

Some people like to stay busy.. but not so busy they have to give up their life for it.. I bet he has enough work to keep him happy without feeling like he's trying to climb out of a never ending hole.
