    Cool Climbing Harness Buckles

I just order 2 of these...

They are designed for climbing harnesses. I will put my webbing through it like I would a belt, but then double it back (like you if you were donning it on a climbing harness).

I will test and post results when they show up.

I hope this one works for you. I tried some just like them and the webbing slipped. Even when I doubled it back, it would still slip. Just not enough friction. Of course if you tied a slip knot, the knot would stop once it reached the buckle, but otherwise I didn't have any luck.

wow, if they slip even after its doubled back then it wouldn't be much use on a climbing harness! Those buckles that Petzl uses on their climbing harnesses would be cool, but I've never seen them for sale outside of on the harness itself.

I think the problem with the ones I had was they were polished stainless steel. THey are very shiny, and the polished edges just didn't grip. Plus I don't know if the curve in the buckles hurts the grip. The rapelling harness I have has a buckle on it that is flat. These are curved, and I think that might have some effect.
