    Some friends of mine built one of those in their backyard, hung a big ol' string hammock under it.

    Did not account for the stresses placed on the uprights by weight in the hammock (my friends are not tiny people).

    Whole structure is quite wobbly and unsafe now.

    Too bad.

    They should have had that nifty diagram (that I can't find on the forum now) giving angles and stress. I remember it had pretty colors ...

    My Aunt had a Terrace with grapes or muskedines. When the vines were fruiting the birds would make a mess and then the grapes would fall on the concrete and make a mess.

    I believe another name for the thing is an arbor. I put one up in the front yard last year with a bench under it . I just googled arbor and free arbor plans was the first thing to come up.

    I had one built in the backyard next to the pool. Great for testing new setups etc.
