What I've learned with what little DIY I've tried is that the little things bug you for a week or so at home... But when you get out and use the gear you forget all about them. There's no question of form vs. function in backpacking gear.
I ground the handle off of my IMUSA the other day and put a little nick in the side... It didn't go the whole way through and is perfectly fine for use, but man is that bugging me. I need to get out and use it to remind myself that 'purty' doesn't count for anything in the woods.

Great looking tarp, well done... Love the color as well...
Love the look of it! I've been experimenting with paper patterns trying to figure out the geometry to get the doors right. Your look perfect... close tight and extend slightly proud instead of cutting back under. Where did you get your pattern? or made yourself ?
Do you have velco or anything on the doors to fully seal them?

It's always best if your an early riser!
Wideguy what I used for measurements on the doors are the plans from diygearsupply.com. He has plans on there for a winter tarp. I pretty much ran with that. Though with the cat cuts I pretty much free handed the radius of the cuts. Though I did use the 5" depth for the large cat cut and 3 1/2" for the doors. All that is on the winter tarp plans.
I also did not put any Velcro or anything other than guy outs. Hope this helps. I am hoping to have my video up tonight. Still have to edited it.
