Three weeks out weather time. Actually, this one was pretty close for the Butt Bake, which prolly means its going to be way off---

I had to go to Houston this past week and did a quick overnight near PL#1. Undergrowth is not too bad. I was able to stomp a few shrubs down and had a nice solo hang. Low temp was 72*. The soot from the trees can be annoying if your not careful.
How far from PL#1 were you?
Not far. Maybe 20 mins hike. There is an ATV path about 15 mins down the trail that crosses the trail. There were several decent spots along it.

OK, that must be the place Caveman saw last year, actually on the Little Lake Loop. Sounds like you hiked the trail then turned right onto the ATV track, is that correct?
That's correct. I had started my tracking late, but I did start at the TH. If anyone wants to wield a machete it would be useful for clearing some underbrush.
