But then again...that's just my opinion, and it seems to be the opinion of others on this forum as well.

Yea! Now you're upto 43 posts! Keep up the good work - only 7 more to go

By asking questions about "for sale" items and then making a "I'll take it" post you should be at 50 in no time. If I checked I think I'd find that most of my previous 92 posts were related to buying gear.
    Enjoy

Thing is, I've been a member here since 2009 and read threads here all the time but rarely contribute unless I feel I have something of importance to contribute...

You don't have to sell your gear here.

We are not Hammock eBay, regardless of what some believe. We are here to discuss hammocks. The For Sale sub is merely a way to help folks get rid of excess gear; a 'perk' if you will. When people come here on a mission to sell gear, instead of interacting with the community, it changes the focus.

I'm sure your sales have been positive, but you aren't reflected by everyone that comes here. The 50 post rule merely helps folks get to know the person they are sending their money to in exchange for gear.

Standards sometimes alienate individuals, a lack of standards always alienates communities. I have said this before, no doubt will say it again, and I think it very relevant to this thread. While it may not be perfect for a few, it works well for the community. Priorities.

So you're saying that "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"?

I don't think the sale forum is just a perk for people to get rid of gear, its also a pretty big perk for members to buy good quality gear. I buy a lot from this site to try different things out without breaking the bank and 50 posts seems a bit excessive to me. 25 would do it in my opinion.

Luckily you no longer have to worry about this, since you are well over 50 posts...

I like the 50 idea. Then I feel a little better about who Im dealing with. Its an information and discussion group first... 50 isnt hard to gain and make yourself known. Learn a bit along the way....
