Good stuff Holger, Once you've set it up a few times and spent a bit if time figuring out what's what it'll take no time to whip it out and set it up just right every time. Took me a couple of hangs to realize that it's best with the foot end slightly higher and to get the 'sag' just right. And now I've never been more cosy or comfortable, yoohooo!
what sort of insulation are you using? Or do you not really need it underneath with all those pockets? I've taken my setup with tttg shamu down to 5C with -4 bag and was toasty but it's warming up now so I wouldn't mind a lighter top quilt for summer use.
love to see some pics if you have any and where are you that's so east? I live near Byron and it doesn't get much more east than that
Cheers

14C and I just used a sleeping bag. Was ok, but I think under 10 C I will need at lest a pad or better an UQ.
I want to change the tarp to have one coninius rigline and the tarp fixed with prusiks, makes adjusting easier. And Whoopies with Dutch clips sound like a good idea, not sure jet.
I changed out my stock ropes to AHE buckles w/chainlinks and webbing before I even hung outdoors. Just didn't like the look/feel of the rope, so Bradley has them now.
+1 on the foot being slightly higher than the head end - if not you will find yourself sliding into the foot end.
I tried the pocket insulation trick, but I never seemed to have the right amount of spare clothing available, so I went with a HG Underquilt. Love it.

Yeah- I knew about the feet higher than head & 30degree thing and it worked great last night.
Converted my tarp to a continious ridgeline Tarp. I found it a bit hard to get the hammock and the tarp aligned perfectly. So I got a 8m ridgeline, looped it through the plastic rings underneath the tarp and fixed prusic loops to the plastic rings on the edge. Roundet it off with a figure 9 on the foot end and voila- all done and works perfectly and easy as to align the 2 now...
Congratulations on your new Clark! I have a quick observation from looking at your pictures. It looks like it is strung quite a bit too tight. I pitch mine so there is actually quite a bit of sag in the bug net/weathershield, with the hoops actually leaning towards each other slightly. It tightens up when you get in, the zippers are much easier to zip with a LOT less stress on them, and I find that it is immensely more comfortable with a little more sag. Look at the top line of the hammock when it is hung in the video on the Clark website.

It gives you a pretty good approximation of the proper amount of tension. I think you will find it gives you a flatter lay, fewer longitudinal stress lines to deal with, and a lot more comfort. Give it a try.
Love your enemies, but keep your gun oiled!
I am a CONCENTRATED vegetarian. I let the cows eat all the grass, and then I eat the cows!
Thanks Waddy
I'll try to hang it a bit looser the next time and see.
In the pictures the pockets hold every thing i carried on this trip, about 10kg (Food, clothes & waterbottle...).
That might give the impression that it was thighter strung than it actually was. Zippers run freely without stress on the net.
But early day's, still lot's to learn and try out.
