Talking Kiba the wonder pup's first over night hike!

Success! I took Kiba out for a day of hiking and then her first night in the hammock. She did great! We saw snakes, birds and we even had some deer roll up to our camp. Looks like she's going to be ready for our week long hike on the Superior Hiking Trail after all. Thanks for watching!

Awesome trip report, dude! Love that you are taking Kiba along on the journeys.... you will always have a companion in the piney woods! I was amazed that she didn't light-off after the deer!

    Thanks for the Vid!

Great little hiking partner you got there Kiba looks to be the perfect size dog for hammock use - always cheerful company and better than a hot water bottle.
I dont want to sleep in my hammock with my dog though - i have this distinct feeling, that combining 70 pounds of raw pit bull power - with 1.1/1.7 nylon with down inside..... are going to be a total disaster

Thanks a lot man! I think she loves the woods more than me, and that's saying something.

It was nuts! We all just stared at each other for about 15 minutes. It was like we all accepted the fact that we belonged there. It was awesome!

When my gf said she wanted a dog, I told her that she could get one if I could make it a hiking dog. I think we got ourselves a good one. Thanks a bunch for watching dude.

I wanted a smaller dog because I was always so worried that if I had a bigger one and they got hurt on the trail I would be screwed. But, she's small enough that I can carry out long distances. I had a Rhodesian Ridgeback (Strider) that loved the woods too. Would not sleep in the hammock though. lol Thanks for tuning in.

My gf is a big Harry Potter fan and there is a dog in it named "Fang." Well, I lived in Japan for a little while and figured naming a dog in the language would be cool. So, we compromised and "Kiba" is Japanese for "fang."
