    Calling all side sleepers

So I spent this past weekend as my first in a hammock. It was the best sleep I've ever gotten while out backpacking, but not quite as great as at home.

I'm pretty much a full-time side sleeper and while I don't mind sleeping on my back I don't do it very often.

So for those of you who are side sleepers and love being in your hammock, how do you accomplish it? I had a hard time with it over the weekend and am looking for any suggestions.

i am also a full time side sleeper. my hammock is a diy so i made pretty wide so that i can lay on the diagonal. this allows me sleep on my side with no trouble. i use a small pillow for additional head support but other than that i can sleep well on my side. i do have to change from one side of the hammock to the other when i want to change my sleeping side. hope this helps.

    How wide is your DIY?

I'm using an ENO doublenest which is listed at 6'8''. I'm wondering the difference. I'll have to try to get on more of a diagonal I guess for next time.

I am a side sleeper 100% at home but find i can comfortably sleep on my back in the hammock. I move around alot though and still sleep mostly on my sides even in the hammock. When on my side I tend to curl up my legs into not a fetal position but almost. This works well for me and as a bonus it puts more of my body on top of my 2/3 UQ.

    Two words: Bridge Hammock

I switched from an ENO DN (which I liked very much) to a Eureka Chrysalis (which I like even more). I haven't tried the new 2011 Chrysalis yet but it looks like the same basic hammock with some improvements and refinements.

And welcome to world of hammock camping!

I find side sleeping in an ENO difficult. I think it is due to stretching of the material. I have no problem in a HH Expedition or WBBB 1.7, both have little stretch.

I'm primarily a side sleeper. With my exped mat in the clark, it super comfortable to sleep on my side. The pad lets me sleep almost flat.

I can sleep on my side in a WBBB on the trail & in my house on a Brazilian hammock. I sleep great in both!

I tried a ENO briefly when I gave it as a gift

a good diag position can accomplish sleeping on your side

I sleep on my side in my Claytor JH, only 48 inches wide. I kinda curl up on my left side and sleep like a baby. In my hammock, I sleep on my left side and my back. In my bed, on my right side and my stomach. Go figure.
